Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Description:

Mott MacDonald, a leading global engineering, management, and development consultancy, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its Water Consultancy Division. This division is at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater challenges, contributing to safe water supplies for future generations and protecting the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop geotechnical design solutions including foundation, slope, earthwork, and retaining wall designs.

• Collaborate with structural engineers for complex soil-structure interaction projects.

• Conduct geotechnical risk management, desk studies, site investigations, and ground modelling.

• Supervise junior staff, provide technical guidance, and ensure quality of deliverables.

• Manage packages of design work, liaise with stakeholders, and conduct site visits when required.

• Contribute to advancing team capability in technical excellence and digital innovation.

• Participate in project commercial management and proposal preparation.

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology.

• Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE).

• Proven experience in innovative geotechnical engineering solutions to current design standards.

• Proficiency in foundation, slope, and retaining wall design software (numerical modelling and coding skills are advantageous).

• Experience implementing or constructing design solutions on-site.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills with project management experience.
