A leading multinational corporate and retail banking institution is seeking a Senior Manager, Compliance and Governance to join its London-based team on a 1-year fixed-term contract. This senior-level role is critical to ensuring the bank’s compliance with PRA/FCA regulations, overseeing governance structures, and managing data protection requirements.

The Senior Manager will work closely with the Head of Compliance to oversee, manage, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across Retail, Corporate, and Treasury operations. The role also involves acting as the Data Protection Officer, managing compliance-related activities, reviewing and approving financial promotions, maintaining regulatory relationships, and ensuring staff are trained on compliance-related matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Compliance in managing compliance across multiple business areas.

  • Acting as Data Protection Officer and overseeing data protection requirements.

  • Reviewing, approving, and ensuring adherence to PRA/FCA regulatory frameworks, including Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty, TCF, MiFID II, EMIR, PSD II, and CASS.

  • Conducting risk-based monitoring to assess compliance embedding (e.g., SMCR, CASS).

  • Preparing and submitting compliance reports to governing bodies and regulators.

  • Managing regulatory notifications via PRA/FCA online platforms.

  • Addressing regulatory breaches promptly and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

  • Facilitating knowledge-sharing and compliance awareness among staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance and data protection within the banking sector, with proven ability to manage regulatory requirements, propose innovative solutions, and work independently while maintaining strong communication with leadership.
