Singular: Building Brilliant Biotechs is hiring a Senior Scientist specializing in analytical chemistry to join an innovative and rapidly growing biotech company based in Cambridge. The organization has secured over £25 million in funding and recently announced a major strategic partnership with a leading pharmaceutical company to develop next-generation polymer nanovesicles for gene therapy drug delivery.

This pioneering platform offers breakthrough potential in overcoming complex biological barriers, such as the blood-brain barrier, to deliver gene therapies to previously inaccessible targets.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in developing analytical methods to study complex molecular structures including proteins, polymers, and nucleic acids. You’ll play a pivotal role in building out the analytical platform, directly supporting the company’s nanomedicine research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize analytical methods for complex molecules using HPLC and other chromatography techniques

• Design, build, and refine the company’s analytics platform for advanced nanomedicine development

• Work cross-functionally with scientists, leadership, and external collaborators to interpret results and guide R&D efforts

• Contribute to solving technical challenges related to the analysis of polymer-based nanovesicles

• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Qualifications:

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field; MSc with strong relevant experience may be considered

• Proven experience in method development and complex molecule analysis

• Strong hands-on skills in chromatography (HPLC essential)

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic biotech setting
