Senior Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwriting & Risk Management: Underwrite new and renewal business, working on complex risk solutions to drive profitable growth in the Group A&H team.
• Broker & Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with brokers, clearly communicating risk appetite and value proposition while negotiating pricing, terms & conditions.
• Business Development: Expand broker networks, attend industry events, and collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters from other business lines to generate new business and cross-sell opportunities.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Set a high standard of customer service, mentor junior colleagues, and support their professional development through guidance, training, and networking opportunities.

Requirements:

• Proven underwriting experience, particularly in Accident and Health (A&H).
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements.
• Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• A sales and customer-oriented mindset, demonstrating motivation, proactiveness, and accountability.
• Interest in mentoring and training junior underwriters (prior experience in this area is a plus).
